Whistle While I Work: My Favorite Work Music

Written by Chris

Ok so everyday, I come into the office make my list of things to complete for the day (if I don’t do it the night before) and I before I start my work I start my favorite work music.

I must say that I’ve been through it all. Tried playing my Offspring, Breaking Benjamin, Sublime, Incubus, 311, but for some reason I always get distracted because I sing along. It took me a while to finally say… ok I can’t do that anymore.

So about 3 months ago, I ended up seeing this awesome video online from this guitarist Andy McKee. I must say I was blown away! Simply put, he’s amazing!

So about 1 month ago, I was asking my friends for some tunes for my iTunes to play while I work. My criteria was:

  1. No music with words
  2. No music with a hard rock beat
  3. Something with guitar

So a buddy of mine Jon at Sober.com sent me over some… you guessed it Andy McKee. I got the cd and it rocks. I’m more productive than I’ve ever been and the music is so soothing. Ok, so the point of this blog post is: If you want to get stuff done without the distractions - my favorite artist to listen to when I work is Andy McKee. Download it now.

I can guarantee you’ll like it.

If you’re an Andy McKee fan post a comment on my blog.

Cheers,

Chris Brisson

P.S. I’m working on cleaning up the blog now so bare with me during these next couple of days while I do a complete overhaul… Any suggestion? I’m an open book…

Andy Mckee Rocks! I agree with being more productive when there is a melodic beat playing while I work. I notice when I am painting, the final project turns out much different when I have lets say Chevelle versus some classical playing. There is definitely direct relation to the harmony of life and the music we listen to. The vibrations effect our mood, perception, energy and thought patterns.

If you like Andy Mckee, you might like Trevor Hall - Portraits of Imagination, Kaki King - Everybody Loves You, Rob Coslow - Solo Piano.

    Get it done!

Hey Chris…I saw you had left a message on Jared Zimmerman’s facebook and recognized you from spanish river (we graduated the same year). I hope you don’t mind that I read your blog..it looks so professional, I thought you were selling something at first! I saw the video of Andy McKee that you put on here and I liked it:) I saw you’re into the same music as I am (incubus, 311, sublime…etc) and I always get too distracted to work with them in the background too!
