It’s that time of year that you get to reflect and look back on the past year and either say, “What the hell did I do?” or “Wow, that was awesome!”

I’m in the “Wow, that was awesome” category. 2007 was a great year. A year of connections. A year of establishing a brand for myself. A year of ideas. A year knowing that I can do anything.

But this year is going to be a little different…

This year is going to be about challenges and missions. A challenge to test marketing ideas and concepts.
Let me ask you a question.

Have you ever started your day not knowing what you were going to do to grow your business?

Have you ever wanted to know the results form different marketing strategies and techniques?

If yes, then great! Because starting next week I’m going to put a new marketing strategy to the test and share my results. I want you to join me with each marketing strategy.

The reason: When I have a mission or when I challenge myself to something, I find myself doing whatever it takes to complete the mission. I need to have that sense of accomplishment for that project. You may be the same way.

To take part in the Marketing Missions:

Blog about the mission by linking back to this post with the anchor text of: “Social Marketing Blog”

Leave a comment on this post with the link to your post about this contest.

Ok, so stay tuned for next week’s Mission.

Later,

Chris

I get this question ALL of the time…

“How do I drive traffic?”

Well, it’s quite a broad topic because there are literally thousands of ways to drive people to your website. But using video is the easiest and the cheapest. It’s actually free when you use YouTube and the other sites.

Here’s my story on why and how it’s so freakin’ easy to drive people to your website…

So today I was looking for videos for my new FaceBook group, “I bet I can find 1,000,000 people who want $1 Million Dollars” and I came across this video on YouTube. First off, the video has received well over 37,000 views!

Now you may be saying ok, it must be some good content… NO!

It’s a video of this person going over a TMZ report on how Chris Crocker is being sued for $1 Million Dollars. Folks, it’s a 1:07 video of NOTHING! But it got 37,000 views and counting!

Ok so what’s the strategy?

It’s well known in the public relations field. It’s called “Piggybacking.” Piggybacking is when you “piggyback” off of a current event and tie it into your marketing message. By capitalizing on current events you can gain HUGE amounts of traffic to your website.

Your Mission:

Look at the current events everyday. Create a 1 to 2 minute video on that current event and tie it into your marketing.

Use Camtasia. Windows Movie Maker. Upload to all the video sites using TubeMogul.com and watch your traffic numbers and sales soar!

It’s as easy as farting. No joke. Try it sometime. The video, not the fart.

Ok, if you like the post, leave me a comment… I’m out

Cheers,

Chris

Here’s the cheesy video that’s driving tons of views.
